I think the real issue is that all of Part 1 is real quality shit (as opposed to just shit, do not be confused) except for the Search for Tsunade arc. The War Arc, for all of its faults, had the Madara/Hashirama flashback stuff, which is also some of his best. Part 2 has some of his absolute best stuff with the Shikamaru arc, the Pain arc, and Sasuke vs.

Part 2 showed a lot more of the meandering storytelling seen in the Search for Tsunade arc, which is why people are down on it, especially since one of its first arcs is the most boring arc in the entire series (the Sai arc).īut the reality is Naruto is a series of highs and lows - Kishimoto was just on fire for most of Part 1. The Sasuke Retrieval arc is truly amazing, but it happened to be the other end of an amazing sandwich with mediocre filling. That one wasn't bad, but it was just ok, and after the highs of the Chuunin Exams (and even of their immediate aftermath with Itachi and Kisame showing up) it just didn't measure up.

Links to external articles/images with spoilers should have the flair as well as the name of the show. Do not post spoilers in the submission title. The source of a spoiler (the title of the thing it's spoiling) must be clearly listed immediately before the spoiler in your post or comment, using to indicate that.
